A multidisciplinary generalist with an eclectic background and a tendency to wander into new fields, then quietly stay long enough to become useful. Began in radio journalism, served as a naval medic, studied literature at the University of Helsinki, and built a long IT career including a decade at the Finnish public broadcaster as a Unix and Linux administrator and senior webmaster. Later ran an own company blending design, web work, comics publishing, and technical problem solving, while also operating an art gallery that hosted around a hundred contemporary exhibitions.
Along the way, has chaired housing companies for nearly two decades, co-owned a microbrewery, taught web production, handled editorial and visual work, and generally gravitated toward roles that sit somewhere between creativity, structure, and figuring things out. Now returning to healthcare and finishing training as a practical nurse specializing in people with intellectual disabilities.
Curious about almost everything and interested in very different kinds of work. Creates AI-driven art, builds sculptures from ceramics, wire mesh, scrap, and concrete, paints abstract pieces, experiments with mixed-media collages, and has exhibited photography also, with a growing interest in video art. Writes poetry and song lyrics, keeps practicing instruments slightly beyond current skill level, occasionally entertaining small gatherings with a steel tongue drum, and treats cooking as a daily form of applied art.
Spends much of the year in a log cabin by a lake, follows far too much news for anyone’s wellbeing, and does not drink coffee, which in Finland is practically a personality defect, compensating with unreasonable amounts of tea. Several book ideas have been quietly haunting a hard drive for years, waiting for either discipline or recklessness to win.
Despite the résumé, fairly calm, approachable, and genuinely interested in all sorts of ideas, including the slightly odd ones. Happy to take on small jobs, unusual projects, or things that do not quite fit a category. Also perfectly fine if the reason for reaching out is simply to comment on a blog post, float a half-formed idea, or ask something unexpected. No biting, no eye-rolling, and curiosity included by default.

A daily growing collection of AI-assisted artwork I have created.
Here you can get all sorts of unnecessary stuff featuring a design I made.
